Sharks Gear Up For Final Day of SSC Championships

OCALA, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Swim teams were in the zone on Saturday night at day four of the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The Sharks had 11 podium finishers on Saturday night. With all the victories on day four, the Sharks' total medal count is now up to 11 gold medals, eight silver medals, and five bronze medals. Going into the final day of the meet, the Women's team remains in second place, and the Men's team remains in third place.

How it Happened
(Women's)

  • Hailey Williams secured first in the 500 free with a time of 4:50.07. Ilaria Murzilli took third, finishing with a time of 4:51.98.
  • Maria Goncalves placed third in the 100 back with a time of 54.80.
  • The Sharks swept the podium in the 100 breast. Claire Gass took the victory, finishing with a time of 1:01.03. Behind Gass in second was Hannah Montgomery, who finished with a time of 1:01.54. Then rounding out the top three was Kristina Orban, who came in third with a time of 1:01.75.
  • In the 200 fly, May Lowy took second with a time of 1:59.41.
  • The group of Orban, Zsofia Kurdi, Goncalves, and Maya Esparza placed first in the 200 free relay. With their time of 1:30.75, the group set a new NSU and SSC record.

What's Next
The Sharks close out action in Ocala, FL on February 16th for the final day of the Sunshine State Conference Championships. Events scheduled for day five include the 1650 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Back, 200 Breast, and 400 Freestyle Relay. Prelims begin at 10:00AM, followed by the finals at 5:00PM.
